For those of you interested, Allup/Rik and I began playing EQ on a free server.

We are playing on a Legends server, that follows the historic time line of EQ. Right now, we are at the pre-Kunark stage, with Kunark scheduled for release sometime in October, so it's not too late to join and have fun.

dude, i haven't had any issues with "mobs warping....a bat that DT's you", I think its the closest thing out to the original.

Rikzat sucked me into it, compared to the other MMO's currently out, it's good.

I pretty much just play shooters and that for now.

Lol, i have this downloaded and was checking out the legends thing. Seems like a really cool idea how they're releasing patches in the original order. Is the thing secure? Are you opening your pc up by running this thing? Btw, didn't the bats used to DT? I can remember running my ass off from every bat.

you can still do that.

They are nerfing stuff as the game progresses.

For example, they just took mana stones out and moved Jboot camp from Najeena to the giants.

Is the xp as slow as classic? I'm really unsure if I want to play EQ again especially on a server that could be shut down at any time, but hrmmm.

Exp is still slow as hell. Game is fun just for the nostalgia factor, 30 people in unrest last night lol.

Its not terribly slow, if you start now we can help with PLing you to catch up to us. The server and community seem stable and I wouldn't worry too much about it going under any time soon. They have the largest player base of any EMU server currently being played.

We've been using Teamspeak 3 instead of vent, feel free to hop on this weekend.

Downloading this atm, will try and get it installed tonight. If dual boxing is a possibility I'll likely roll a necro and cleric, unless some other support class would be more beneficial.

What level are you guys up to now and what classes are in the mix?

no dual boxing on project1999 if you get caught you will get ip banned.

right now we have

Hurtt- 16 Hobbit warrior
Narkon- 17 gnome mage
Me(algamon)-17 HE chanter/7 Hobbit druid/3 hobbit rogue/4 Ogre SK
maalox (18/19 hobbit cleric and a 16 hobbit druid)
Allupnya-- 50 cleric
we could use just about anything at this point...dps classes are always good...and when in doubt...roll a cleric

With no dual boxing I'm doing necro, it's what I know and love. Late day at work, so I doubt I'll get to do much if any playing tonight but I'll try to get it installed.
