Wednesday, July 14, 2010 : Some fun PvP oomph
Although Eve isn't your traditional MMO, it is an amazing game with some extensive sandbox elements. I've been playing it on and off for the past few years and something about the game keeps me subscribed.

Anyway, for those of you not familiar with it, here is a cool video I found on our Alliance.

Feel free to look us up in game.

WoW holds your hand from 1-80, and makes sure you get a cookie regardless if you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place.

Thursday, May 27, 2010 : A bit of old school EQ oomph
Some of us recently joined the Project1999 Legends server that recently came online. It's an oldschool style Everquest 1 server, which happens to be one of the first games that TW played together as a guild. We spent many years and long hours of raiding on the old Morell-Thule server and have fond memories.

Anyway, project1999 has dedicated itself towards reliving the old glory days. EQ1 was one of the most hardcore MMO's in recent memory, where nothing was instanced and guilds competed for world bosses. TW was fortunate to build a solid reputation as a premiere raiding guild back then. In fact, we're prolly better known for our accomplishments on Morell-Thule than any other game outside of Quake and WoW.

At this point, we don't have the resources, nor the dedication we had 10 years ago to push the limits as we once did. However, we have plans to be a part of a highly accomplished, veteran group of oldschool players to experience all the end game content our bodies can endure.

The devs plan on following the games natural progression through the Luclin expansion as if it were 1999 all over again. The server is currently level capped at 50 and it's in the pre-Kunark stage. Jboots recently got moved out of Najeena and the manastones got the nerf, just as it was in the good ole days.

A few of us Allupnya(Rikzat), Brennon(Hurtt), Narkon and myself (Buffoon), have all rolled new toons and are actively playing. We've been foruntate to stumble upon lots of old friends and enemies in our short time on the server. In fact, we ran into two other MIA ThunderWalker members from our glory days.

It looks as though we found something to keep us entertained until the next MMO title makes waves.

Old friends and members are welcome to join in on the fun, you can download the client and get instructions on how to join in at http://www.project1999.org.

Classes that would fit well into our current setup are:
Enchanter, Rogue, Monk, Bard, Druid, Shaman, Ranger, Necro, or Mage and of course CLERICs! Lots and lots of CLERICS!

It's FREE to play

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 : Sand Box MMO trailer oomph
Since having stepped away from WoW over a year ago, I've come to the conclusion that I prefer sandbox MMO's. Looking back, the games that I've really enjoyed playing throughout the years have shared that sandbox element. UO, Star Wars Galaxies (Pre NGE), Eve Online and Darkfall Online. The one thing that they all share in common is the sandbox environment. No instances, no scripted encounters and the players end up creating a large majority of the game experience. You can play on your own schedule, at your own pace and exploration is always fun.

Mortal Online is due out some time soon and it fits the mold of the sandbox MMO genre. Although it's received mixed reviews during it's open beta phase, it is still a step forward in terms of expanding the sandbox concept.

Have a look for yourselves:

Friday, February 5, 2010 : Our Global Agenda oomph

http://www.globalagendagame.com/

A suprise sleeper of a game is the MMOFPS that was released this month. Thus far we're having a blast with it!

The best way that I can describe is a cross between Tribes along with concepts from Team Fortress 2 and the MMO elements of Guild Wars and Hellgate London. Somehow, HighRez makes it work and has produced a really fun game to play. Admitedly, some of us are addicted to it

We're currently playing under our old Clan Tag of Clan Dog Pound.

We would like to invite former friends and guildmates to join in on the fun.
Wednesday, December 9, 2009 : Still Kicking theboogyman
I just wanted to keep everyone posted, the remaining active members from TW merged with another guild. Both guilds changed their guild name; we now go under the tag TWIST (Thunder Walkers / Semper Tyrannis TW/ST). We have moved to a high POP server, and have moved up the ranking very fast. Semper was 23 on the server, in our first week as TWIST we moved to 14th the second week to 9th. We cleared ICC first wing last night only to be beat by an alliance guild by one hour, we were the first horde guile to clear ICC 1st wing, beating another horde guild by only 1 Minute. Not bad for a guild that has played together for 2 weeks. Now the long wait for the next wing, 3 more weeks. I guess this will be the time to get all the old content done, now that we established our self’s on the server. We look forward to the upcoming server first, I am sure you will find it in any TWIST member’s feat of strength achievements.
